Croton, OH….. American Agri-Women (AAW) members from throughout the country will gather in Washington, DC, June 7-10, 2009, for the organization’s 15th annual Washington, DC, Agricultural Issues Symposium and Fly-in.
Energy is on everyone’s minds this year, and especially on the minds of America’s farmers and ranchers as they plant and harvest our nation’s food, so the timely topic of AAW’s symposium this year will be “Energy: The Power to be Affordable and Reliable.” Speakers for the two symposium panels will be announced soon.
The symposium will be held in Room 107-A of the Jamie Whitten Administration Building at 12th and Independence Avenue from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m on Monday, June 8. Members of the media and the public are welcome.
During the week, the group will meet with officials at the US Department of Agriculture, US Department of Energy and the Council on Environmental Quality, and with Members of Congress.
Key issues the group will be working on include immigration reform and water issues.
