AAW Policy Bites: Agricultural Labor & Workforce Stability

The ongoing shortage of agricultural labor is not just a challenge for farmers, it’s their number one concern. AAW recognizes that without a reliable, legal workforce, American farms cannot operate at full capacity, leading to economic strain and potential disruptions in the food supply chain.

Our Position: AAW supports a streamlined, year-round agricultural visa program to ensure a stable labor force. We also oppose mandatory E-Verify unless implemented gradually alongside a functional and efficient verification system.

Why It Matters: Agriculture depends on skilled labor to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. When workforce shortages persist, production suffers, costs rise, and family farms struggle to remain competitive. Ensuring access to a legal and flexible workforce is critical to maintaining the strength of U.S. agriculture.

AAW Advocacy in Action: We support policies that prioritize agricultural labor needs, allowing farmers to focus on producing safe, high-quality food while upholding workforce integrity.
