AAW Policy Bites: Trade & Market Access

International trade plays a crucial role in the success of American agriculture. AAW supports fair and transparent trade agreements that provide farmers and ranchers with unrestricted access to domestic and global markets. Ensuring that imported food meets the same rigorous safety and quality standards as U.S. products is essential to maintaining consumer confidence and market stability.

Our Position: AAW advocates for the enforcement of trade agreements that protect U.S. agriculture from unfair foreign competition. We also support equivalent sanitary and phytosanitary regulations in trade agreements to ensure a level playing field for American producers.

Why It Matters: Strong trade policies help U.S. agriculture remain competitive, expand market opportunities, and drive economic growth in rural communities. Fair regulations prevent foreign imports from undercutting American farmers with lower production standards.
