CROOKSTON, MN. (AgPR) December 2, 2024 | American Agri-Women (AAW), the nation's leading coalition of women in farming, ranching, and agribusiness, congratulates Congressman Doug LaMalfa (CA-01) on his unanimous election to serve as the Western Caucus Chairman for the 119th Congress.
AAW President Rose Tryon, who lives in Congressman LaMalfa’s District, said, “Congressman LaMalfa is one of the hardest-working Congressmen I know.” “He is a strong voice for agriculture and understands the needs of rural communities.”
Doug LaMalfa is a fourth-generation rice farmer and business owner who has lived in Northern California all his life. In Congress, LaMalfa has been a strong advocate for limited, constitutionally grounded government, fiscal restraint, and lower taxes. He has worked to protect families from overregulation, ensure American farmers and ranchers can continue to feed the world, and focus on recovery from natural disasters. He has sponsored legislation to help citizens recover from natural disasters and change forest policy to reduce wildfire risks. Congressman LaMalfa was the American Agri-Women’s 2022 Champion of Agriculture award recipient.
AAW remains committed to promoting fair regulations, reducing red tape, and ensuring that rural voices are a priority in national policy discussions. As always, American Agri-Women stand ready as a resource to help shape agricultural policy and secure the growth and success of U.S. agriculture for generations to come.
