January 2024
I wish you and yours a very happy and healthy New Year! I am so thankful to be sharing this new year with you. Thank you for being a member of American Agri-Women (AAW).
Each New Year brings a new beginning, a blank page, where we can write new stories in American Agri-Women's book. Each New Year provides a clean break and new hope for our organization. Let's come together to write the beautiful new pages our organization deserves.
I am honored to serve as your President for the next two years. During my convention speech, I talked about what American Agri-Women means to me and my thoughts about this great organization. You can watch that speech below on this page.
Our exceptional leadership team has been working hard behind the scenes these last few months. We are excited to launch a new integrated web platform with an upgraded website and a new Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. The CRM will replace our current membership database and help us streamline communication with members. Our website will be updated with a member's only section. We have also updated our payment processing system. These changes will help us add value for our affiliates and members and improve the flow of information. I want to thank our Vice President of Communications, Chrissy Wozniak, for all her work on these projects. We will continue to develop these platforms throughout 2024. We will schedule meetings to explain these new platforms soon and welcome your feedback.
On 12/20/2023, we rolled out our first "Action Alert" on the Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) proposed Rule for Natural Asset Companies (NACs). These action alerts are a call to action for members to take action on agricultural issues.
In February, we will start our series of "Lunch with AAW." These events will occur on the second Wednesday of each month around 11 PST, noon MST, 1 CST, and 2 EST. The lunchtime event will be about a 45-minute presentation via Zoom on a topic affecting agriculture. We are working out the logistics for these events now.
As we ring in the new year, I look forward to a fresh start for AAW. Now more than ever, we need to pull together as a team, and focus on what is best for AAW and Agriculture. Please join us at a meeting or consider joining a committee. Any action you take, no matter how seemingly small, helps build momentum and supports American Agri-Women. Let's be honorable in our intentions and focus for the new year with the resolve to find opportunities to improve our organization and to work with other organizations to support agriculture.
I am looking forward to working with you all!
Rose Tryon
President
